[MPlayer-users] Compilation puzzle

While compiling the latest cvs I got this

make: *** No rule to make target `help_mp-en.h', needed by `mplayer.o'.  
Stop.

This is on Linux gcc 2.95.3.

I didn't stop but issued make again and it restarted compiling -- to the
end this time. I issued make install and it runs fine afaics. What gives?

Oh, and I have a request. Would you please put the version number 
somewhere so we can see it in the GUI? Obvious place: the About screen.
