i've found a site that contains -probably crappy encoding- movies
that make MPlayer crash. Tested against pre9 running Mandrake 8.2,
compiled with gcc 2.95.3.
here's the error message:
----
MPlayer interrupted by signal 11 in module: decode_video
- MPlayer crashed by bad usage of CPU/FPU/RAM. Recompile
MPlayer with --enable-debug and make a 'gdb' backtrace
and disassembly. For details, see DOCS/bugreports.html s
ection 5.b.
- MPlayer crashed. This shouldn't happen. It can be a bu
g in the MPlayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your
gcc version. If you think it's MPlayer's fault, please r
ead DOCS/bugreports.html and follow instructions there.
We can't and won't help unless you provide these informa
tions when reporting a possible bug.

i will upload a file called "ot171.avi" to MPlayer's ftp.
Note: MPlayer sometimes crashes instantly after start playing,
sometimes it starts OK but crashes if i try to switch to fullscreen
mode.... some rare times doesn't crash at all. so please try several
times and play a little with it. using -ao null doesn't help. Neither does
changing vo. Sometimes i can woraround it by starting with -fs instead
of switching during playback.
