  Your machine is just like mine: I have an AMD K6II-400 with a Savage4.  VIA
MPV3 Apollo chipset.  Only, I'm still running X version 4.1: I'm using a
freshly installed Debian Woody and am yet to download the unofficial X 4.2
packages.
  I will try your driver anyway and let you know how I feel about it.  Only,
I'm afraid it's not going to be very soon as I'm busy with moving.
