[MPlayer-users] Mplayer crashes saying " The file was coded with...."

hello,
try updating to newest (=cvs) version, maybe your problem is already
fixed. if not read DOCS/bugreports.html most important point: output
of mplayer -v [options] [filename] &> mplayer.log (i think your output
is without -v). do not cut anything away.

maybe your file(s) is/are "just" broken, in this case you might try
the option "-lavdopts ver=-1" (see /DOCS/tech/libavc-options.txt)
as far as i understand it, this deals with the way how to deal with 
errors. however i'm not really sure if this is actually helps / makes
sense. if someone knows better, feel free to flame ;)
