Great, then we should use it.. (manual adjustment isn't what i would
call a show-stopper)

Why is it wrong to use the AR if it is defined for mpeg4.
If winblows players don't support it, well, it's their problem
if they don't support documented flags.
I use Ogg as container for my videos (with multiple vorbis audio tracks)
And i couldn't care less about some M$ users not being able to play
my movies (After all, you wouldn't want to do "bad" things like trading
your movies, would you ;-))
