[MPlayer-users] os x no sound - slow video

hello all, 
im running os 10.2 on my ibook. its a 600mhz, with the
combo drive, dvd/cdr. its pretty snappy. anyhow, i
loaded xfree86, and fluxbox as the window manager,
pretty fresh.
initally i was having problems getting sound to play,
but i resoved that. im running the esd driver for
sound, xmms runs great. the problem comines into
paradise when i load mplayer, it seems to be a little
bit slow, and i get no audio. here is the output:
my  -ao list is not complete- i cannot choose sdl,
which is required for esd. here is what i get  from
-ao help
