[MPlayer-users] DVD rip skips every other odd frame

Corey,

Thanks for the info, but it did not work. Nevertheless it did help me solve 
the problem. I noticed that the file size did not alter with the -vop flag, 
then I realized that the file size was wopping 37 KBytes ;-)

So what happened? This may help some poor "sod" like me out there. When I 
tried creating my back-up I followed Mr. Bunkus's instructions, in other 
words I tried a 3 phase process. I then got the "skip frame" message and 
realized it only happened at every odd frame. 

A little searching got me to the possible answer that "sources with 
'interleaved/interlaced' video cannot be copied with a 3 phase process". A 
little more googling led me to the one phase "copy". 

Now here is the problem. I executed this last command in the same directory 
where the frameno.avi was (generated during the 3 phase process). This file 
seemed to be processed even though it was _not_ in the command line.

Solution: remove the frameno.avi file and execute the one phase "copy" 
command.
