I've been reading a lot of documentation on digital video with the 
purpose of ripping my DVD's right, so you made me think that I had 
understood something wrong again. Gee, you had me worried! ;-)

BTW, I have the same chipset as Moritz (i830M) and the same problem. I 
haven't been able to run the trailer smoothly at any resolution anyway - 
the Win32 version of the Sorenson codec must really suck, as I've 
already read on /. I encoded the .mov into a 3000 Kbps Divx (vs. 5Mbps 
for the QuickTime stream) using FFmpeg and a quality 5 Ogg Vorbis file, 
merged them into a 57 MB .ogm file. It now runs very smoothly, and I 
really can't notice any quality loss.
