[MPlayer-users] [BUGREPORT] -vo vesa mixes up red/blue or U/V since CVS-20030328, possibly swscaler problem?

In CVS snapshots MPlayer-20030328 and newer, playing movies with VESA
video output, '-vo vesa', has a discoloured appearance, as if red and
blue channels are swapped.
A diff shows no changes were made to libvo/vo_vesa.c between
that snapshot and the previous snapshot MPlayer-20030327. This may be a
problem with swscaler not being triggered correctly. Explicitly
including swscaler, '-vf scale', corrects the discolouration.
Anyway, enough misleading theoretical blather. Here're the gory
