Telecine: original is actually "film" (like from a movie camera) @24
fps. Then, when the DVD is created, it is re-encoded @29.97 fps for
consumer NTSC TV sets through a process called telecine
(http://www.zerocut.com/tech/pulldown.html). 

You need to "undo" the telecine when encoding (inverse telecine).
