[MPlayer-users] mplayer 5.1 usage

Hi!

Let's say i want to watch a DVD and as sound output i have a SB Live 5.1,
connected to a set of analog speakers, thus using the mplayer a52 library
to decode the audio using software.

Most home DVD systems have a menu setting, where we define the distancies
from
the listenet to the speakers. This is done to calculate the appropriate
delays.

How what parameters should I use for mplayer to reproduce the sound with the
correct delays?

Or... is this possible?
