[MPlayer-users] MPlayer Crases after 1 second of playing TV

Strange problem here... MPlayer/Mencoder, which had been operating fine
here for about 2 weeks now, just suddenly decided it would rather crash
after playing from the TV card for 1 second, than work like normal
anymore. There have been no hardware or significant software changes,
and it still works for anything not involving my TV card (other
TV-playing apps like TV Time and Xawtv continue to function perfectly,
and my BTTV module/parameters have not changed).

I seriously doubt this is a problem with any hardware or other software
than mplayer because everything else continues to function perfectly.
Help is appreciated, as I'd like to get this functioning again as
quickly as possible. Uninstalling and recompiling mplayer had no
affect... Removing config files from /home and /etc had no affect.

I'm running on a recent (3-4 week-old) Gentoo install based off of
1.4_rc1. Vanilla Linux Kernel version: Linux Neptune 2.4.21 #8 Tue Jul
1 17:19:37 PDT 2003 i686 AMD Athlon(TM) XP 2000+ AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux.
  Libc version 2.3.1. X version: 4.3.0. GCC-3.2.2. LD 2.13.90.0.18
20030121. binutils 2.13.90.0.18 20030121.

My CPU is an AMD Athlon XP 2000+ (1.66Ghz). Video card is an NVidia
GeForce4 MX AGP, with NVidia binary driver 1.0.4363-r2. Sound card:
Creative Ensoniq 5880 with Alsa ens1371 driver (version 0.9.2). TV Card
is a K-World BT878RF-Pro using the BTTV drivers bundled with the listed
Linux kernel.
