[MPlayer-users] mplayer stalling when using sound.

hi all 

I've mailed before about mplayer playing for a second then stopping. 
I have no noticed that if I run it with -nosound this goes away. 

I'm running a Yamaha sound card that could very possibly be the main problem, but I'm hoping there is a better way of fixing the problem then just replacing the sound card. 

any suggestions ?
