The video plays fine for me: 29.9 seconds duration

I'm using mplayer dev-CVS-031208-14:59-3.3.2 (that's CVS from right
before the release of pre3).

All I can see in your output that doesn't happen in mine is that your
mplayer wants to resample from 11024 Hz to 11025 Hz. As I guess, I would
say that perhaps your sound card/driver wants to use twice that rate,
which is why the playback speed gets doubled.

What happens if you use -srate 22048 or -srate 22050?

What happens if you use -nosound?
