[MPlayer-users] Errors when running gmplayer command

Upon running $ gmplayer from a command line I get the following:

file or directory
Input config file /etc/mplayer/input.conf parsed : 50 binds
SKIN dir 1: '/home/Thomas/.mplayer/Skin'
SKIN dir 2: '/usr/share/mplayer/Skin'
[x11] NET style stay on top ( layer 0 ). Using state
_NET_WM_STATE_STAYS_ON_TOP.
New_Face failed. Maybe the font path is wrong.
Please supply the text font file (~/.mplayer/subfont.ttf).
subtitle font: load_sub_face failed.

It looks to me like files are missing and/or permissions are incorrect.
Can anyone offer suggestions?
