[MPlayer-users] mencoder segfault or pic-distortion

now i generated the jpgs and pngs as rgb-colored.

i tried different resolutions (800x600, 1024x768) and different
-ovc (copy, rawrgb, qtvideo) and lavc with different codecs (mpeg4, mpeg1video)

but the resulting avi file is trashed non the less. 

the result of 

mencoder -mf on:w=1024:h=768:fps=2:type=png -ovc lavc -lavcopts
vcodec=mpeg1video -o sod.avi /tmp/sod\*.png

is again at http://www.schuldei.org/sod.avi 290kbyte on a good
connection.

this looks as a bogus mencoder or codec, but i am not literate
enough to track this down on my own. Could someone help me debug
this?
