[MPlayer-users] bmovl overlay

hi, i'm trying to get bmovl working, but i really can't figure out how to 
do. 

i've tried:
mplayer video/nba-slam_dunk-vince_carter.mpg -vop bmovl=0:0:/tmp/fifo 

and then with the bmovl-test posted on mplayer-dev
./bmovl-test /tmp/bmovl-freevo.fifo ~/image.png 40 40 

image.png is:
image.png: PNG image data, 108 x 84, 8-bit/color RGBA, non-interlaced 

this makes mplayer crash.
