Hello,
I'm having a problem with mplayer. I'm running Red Hat 8.0. I
compiled a stock 2.4.19 kernel with a card services patch and a wifi
patch. (its an HP laptop) and mplayer worked great. I upgraded to
2.4.20 with the CS and WIFI patch and it now it dosen't work. gmplayer
says:

if I just type in mplayer it dose print the help screen, but fails if I
try and watch a video. I looked at the docs and I found the part about
the RTC on laptops. I do have RTC support in the kernel, and I don't
think its the hardware since it ran fine with 2.4.19. I did a
makeoldconfig to make the 2.4.20 kernel, so the options should be about
the same on the kernel. Mplayer also fails if I try the no RTC option
and the other tricks suggested in the manual. Any help would be
appreciated. Thank you.
