First of all, i'd like that you'd read http://learn.to/edit_messages
and http://www.xs4all.nl/~hanb/documents/quotingguide.html .
Especialy note that sending new mails by pressing reply on an unrelated
old mail breaks threading for all others and is considered as bad
behavior.

Depends on which codecs you mean. All windows dlls are stored under
/usr/lib/win32 (unless otherwise defined). xmms plugins are stored
in the xmms defined directory (./configure get's it from xmms-config).
./configure checks also for the different dirs where xanim
(/usr/local/lib/xanim/mods /usr/lib/xanim/mods /usr/lib/xanim) and
realplayer (/usr/lib/real /usr/lib/RealPlayer*/Codecs
/usr/local/RealPlayer*/Codecs /usr/local/lib/RealPlayer*/Codecs),
live (/usr/lib/live /usr/local/live /usr/local/lib/live) could be.
But you can give for every lib/system your own install path.
