Hi,
every time I encode in Mpeg1video with 2 passes at VCD resolution I
notice that black areas are never really black, but full of many little
greyish blocks (also in the case of horizontal border stripes).
Another problem is the presence of mosquito noise.
The command I use is:
mencoder -nosound -ovc lavc -lavcopts
vpass=1:vcodec=mpeg1video:vhq=1:vbitrate=963:keyint=15:vrc_maxrate=2500:vqmax=12 1.mpg -o film.mpg -of mpeg -vop pp,expand=352:288,scale=352:272,crop=718:554:2:10,pp -pp 0x2007f -sws 2
I wonder if adding a dark_mask or some other kind of preprocessing may
help.
Please, can anyone advice on the best way to encode?
Thanks,
Nico
