[MPlayer-users] problem ripping dvds with mencoder, slows then stops.

strange, how else does the system behave? is there any interesting output
on /var/log/messages or /var/log/everything/current (i/o errors, etc)?

hmmm, looks like a pretty high bitrate, is this intentional?

just an idea:
try ripping it first with -dumpstream and encode the dumped stream 
afterwards, maybe this helps locating the problem (is it the dvd or
the encoding process). may need some disk space, though ;)
