[MPlayer-users] Problems with mencvcd (strange crash)

I tried the following command: mencvcd pjtb -noburn PJTB.avi -vop list=volnorm

Something inside the script crashes after a few seconds. The input file is 
playable with MPlayer (no problems). The script then finishes and produces a 
working, but only a few seconds long output file.

Tools installed from source:
mplayer (0.90rc2)
lame (3.92)
mjpegtools (1.6.1)
transcode (0.6.2)
vcdimager (0.7.12)

All other stuff comes from the according Debian Woody packages.
Kernel 2.4.18-686 on a Pentium II/350.
