[MPlayer-users] Audio CDs

I've been reading the Mplayer man page, docs, and cdparanoia man page some more and have these questions:

1.  Is the differnce between cdda and cddb that cddb gets the titles?  If so where is that documented?  

2.  I can play a CD from the GUI using gmplayer cddb://1- but is there anyway in the GUI to specify that I want to play a CD?  I can specify DVDS, VCDs, etc.
