Hi -
Which section of the fine manual have I forgotten now?
I have a MPEG-2 movie that was encoded at 368x480 (one of the
many files from www.archive.org).
If I play it with "mplayer -vo xv" a 640x480 window is created and
the movie fills the entire window. Great - that is expected.
However, a friend of mine has a card for which the Xv does not
work and '-vo x11' is used:
The playback window is 640x480 BUT the movie only fills the center
368x480 (and of course looks "skinny").
Movie-Aspect is 1.33:1 - prescaling to correct movie aspect.
VO: [x11] 368x480 => 640x480 Planar YV12
Using MMX2 for colorspace transform
SwScaler: using unscaled Planar YV12 -> BGR 32-bit special converter
Selected video codec: [mpeg12] vfm:libmpeg2 (MPEG 1 or 2 (libmpeg2))
I thought perhaps "-vop scale=640:480" would be what I wanted but
that is wrong - it results in:
SwScaler: BICUBIC scaler, from Planar YV12 to BGR 32-bit using MMX2
VO: [x11] 640x480 => 1113x480 BGR 32-bit
Oops.
"-vo sdl" does aspect the window to 640x480 _and_ the movie fills
the window. Alas, SDL playback is so slow it is useless.
Is there a way to have the movie scaled to fill a "-vo x11" window?
Thanks.
