Right. Playing the DVD only reads at about 1meg/sec tops. For ripping
you could easily be going as fast as 15-20 megs/sec. Decrypting 15
megs takes a lot more time than decrypting 1 meg. :)

BTW why doesn't the MPAA go after DVD drives >1x, since their only
purpose is ripping movies...?
