Hello,

I am new to thislist and to Linux in general. I have a RH8.0 Dell Latitude C600 laptop, and have also installed Divx 5.0.1 alpha for Linux.

I then downloaded mplayer 0.90rc2 and performed the ./configure --enable gui, the make and make install with no adverse consequences (as root in last steps to be able to write to the proper directories). I also installed the default skin.

And then tried to reproduce an *.avi file encoded in Divx... and that's where I get my problem.

When I run gmplayer and select a file to open I get:

Playing /home/edusilva/incoming/Friends - 911 - The One Where Rachel Goes Back To Work.avi

looks like this file was encoded with (divx4/(old)xvid/opendivx) -> forcing low_delay flag

 of the other.

And onscreen I see the file being reproduced as if cut, as if it only displayed the first quadrant of the picture. It is as if I only showed 50% of my TV, if there are two people on screen talking I would get only one and an arm.

I know the files are OK as I play them in Windows and it displays OK.

Can someone help me? What might the issue be?
