No, you did not. You told him how to create a solid box behind the
subtitles and adjust the transparency of the box!! DVD subtitles in
mplayer aren't transparent at all afaik. They just only affect the
luma channel, so you still so chroma variations "through" or "on top
of" the subtitles.
