If you play without "-benchmark", regardless of which vo is used, mplayer
plays the frames at their intended rate, as far as possible. So if your
encoder is faster than realtime, mplayer doesn't deliver new frames to
encode fast enough and your CPU is idling around until mplayer decides
it's time for the next frame to be displayed. :-)
