[MPlayer-users] Very Bad avi file

hy guys!

i have a very bad avi file, which is a movie (the man in the iron mask),
it's length is: 691462474, the file is unplayable under winblows, but of
course is playeable with mplayer under linux!

but unfortunately mplayer says that it is a raw avi stream therefore i
used the -idx tag to rebuild the index, and it stops after 40% :((

with:
mencoder -oac copy -ovc copy infile.avi -o outfile.avi
stops at the same position :((

so i did a little investigate with verbosity level 3 (-v -v -v):

mplayer -v -v -v -idx infile.avi 1>error.log

in the logfile you can see on the 43399th line, that somehow mplayer wants
to seek to 0xC47C4800, which is of course far from the end of the
movie (0x2936e14a)

how can possible to workaround this bug in the avifile?

i can not upload the movie because the problem appears from (~) 263mb!

i did not attached the logfile because it is too big (about 10mb), i
uploaded it's bzipped version to:

http://nuk.teteny.elte.hu/~suti/error.log.bz2

can anyone help me?

ps.: i use cvs mplayer + libavcodec on debian sid (updated daily) in pc
plattform (intel piii 1ghz, 512 mb ram....)

best regards
