The cd SPDIF connector only provides Digital Audio from Audio CD's.
In my sblive value, i have a spdif IN where i can connect the cable from the
CD to the card.
To watch DVD's using AC3, you have two choices:
1) analog - decode the ac3 stream from the DVD, and output it to the sblive
to the 3 stereo DAC's
therefore outputting the sound to the 5.1 output plugs (commandline:
-channels 6)
2) digital - the sblive simply serves as a pass-through device, so that the
ac3 stream is sent to
your stereo equipment where your ac3 capable amplifier decodes the stream
and outputs the 5.1 sound
to your speakers.
Was this clear?

According to the manual I have:
CD SPDIF connector (in my sound card this connector is not available, very
strange)
There is a SPDIF Extension, but do I need an external device to connect it
with?
Sorry to bother with this, but all I wanted to do is to take the best from
my sound card ...
