Hi,
I found a bug in mencoder: The -nosound flag is being ignored.
I usually back up dvds by creating multiple frameno.avi's (one
for each interesting audio track) and then strip the audio track
from the actual video, gaining a avi without sound and several
.avis without the video. I noticed that the -nosound flag is getting
ignored in the more recent releases of mplayer. (iirc with pre6 it
worked, I know its as old as a grandmother)
I configured mplayer using:
./configure --disable-runtime-cpudetection --disable-mpdvdkit
and then invoked mencoder with:
mencoder -ovc copy -nosound -o out.avi in.avi
gaining the following output:
---snip
root at Nebuchadnezzar: /home/newImgs/m # mencoder -ovc copy -nosound -o out.avi in.avi

This demuxer doesn't support -nosound yet.
No audio encoder (-oac) selected. Select one or use -nosound. Use -oac help!

However, if I remove that frameno.avi file, it works again.
Ok as a workaround but it took me some time to figure
that out, since its not rational.
