[MPlayer-users] Playing directly from a CD

Is there a way to use MPlayer to play a CD from a CDROM that isn't
connected to a soundcard?

Specifically, I have a receiver that has a USB connector on the front.  I
can play through it with "mplayer -ao oss:/dev/dsp1 [some file with
audio]"

Since audio CDs aren't mountable, I can't think of any way to express the
above except to name the raw device, like "mplayer -ao oss:/dev/dsp1
/dev/scd0" (which is how I play DVDs).  But MPlayer won't access an audio
CD this way.
