[MPlayer-users] mplayer loses keyboard input when sent to the background

There is a small problem with keyboard input to the terminal
window in which mplayer (non-gui version) is started.  Run

  $ mplayer foo.mp3

You can spool the audio file with the cursor keys.  Now stop and
restart the process with

  Ctrl-Z
  $ fg

Pressing the cursor keys now prints just the control sequences for
the cursor keys.  None of the other keystrokes works either.

Verified with xterm, rxvt and on the Linux text console.
