Yes, but you have to pipe it into mplayer first. Or atleast, I thought you had,
until I reread the man page and discovered -input file, I haven't tested it yet, but
-slave and -input file sounds just like what I need, a fifo to pipe commands into
mplayer, from a program that is always resident. (I'm making my own remtoe control) :-)
