I have downloaded a free test file from hotvision.de and I can't play it
even though it works in Windows. I can play many different using my
mplayer setup so there appears to be a problem with this format of file.
Here are the details.
MPlayer 0.90-CVS-RPM-030530-18:03-3.1 (C) 2000-2003 Arpad Gereoffy (see
DOCS)
running on redhat 7.3. I have installed the full set of windows codecs
including the windows media 9 codecs from the rpms.
The file came as Average_Boy.wmd. This is in fact a zip file while I
unzipped to produce
6190 May 14 18:51 Average_Boy.asx
48286 May 14 18:51 Average_Boy.wmz
3623742 May 14 18:51 Mercia_Clayton-You_Said.wma
I attempted play the .wma file and it failed. Here is the output of
mplayer -v Mercia_Clayton-You_Said.wma

I assume this is a windows media audio 9 file. We also tried mplayer
0.90-3.2.2 with the same result.
Cheers,
Raphael
