[MPlayer-users] problem with ac3 playback

Hi,
  Many thanks to everyone who responded.  After many hours of fiddling with
several combinations, I'm now using the alsa drivers, the latest cvs version
of mplayer:

% mplayer -ao alsa9 -ac hwac3 dvd://

and I now have dolby digital out with this wonderful player.  :-)

ps  I believe the mistake I had made (when trying out the alsa drivers
    previously) was that I didn't realize I had to specify the alsa
    driver ("-ao alsa9").
