[MPlayer-users] mencoder and XVID strangeness

Hi,

as far as I remember mencoder never touched divx4log.txt during the 
second pass of a xvid encoding,
but now it's dirting it with binary data (after few lines of stats).

Is it the supposed behaviour? 

Now it can't even keep the bitrate specified (800 kbps for a 720x432 2h 
film), as the movie ends up to roughly 1048 kbps.

I'm using mplayer-20030609 with a self compiled xvid 0.9.1.
