[MPlayer-users] multiple files - lottery?

Hi,

I didnt get any answer with my previous "multiple files" thread. I may 
just be missing the point: is this list for developers or users?

Encoding multiple files is a lottery. Several weeks ago it worked, 
several days agao it didint. Then it worked again, now not anymore. I am 
sure now the problem is in the files, I can demonstrate it. Please see

and please tell me the spell to get mpeg out of them. I do:

mencoder '*png' -mf on:fps=25:type=png -ovc rawrgb -o test.avi

test.avi is wrong already, but I try on:

mencoder test.avi -ovc lavc -lavcopts 
vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=300:vhq:vqmin=2:vqmax=15:keyint=250:vmax_b_frames=0 
-o test.mpeg

I tried also -ovc copy and different -vops -> doesnt work or I get 
segfaults (too numerous to report, probabely because I am just acting blind)

Does anyone have an explanation how to finally get multiple frame 
encoding done once for good?
