Dropped means that there aren't enough frames at the input, so an empty 
p-frame is inserted (which means that the previous picture is 
duplicated). Skipped frames mean that the capture card delivers more 
frames than needed so they get dropped. There are also separate warnings 
from the capture thread about inconsistencies in the intervals the 
capture card delivers the frames at, and about ringbuffer overflows.

When you get no such warning messages, the D/B/S frames are related to 
the a/v sync, which is ok. Messages about inconsistent delivery rate of 
the frames can sometimes appear, while the buffer overflows are _bad_ 
and mean you should choose some less cpu-intensive settings.
