[MPlayer-users] Bugreport: 0.9rc4: mencoder crashes on greyscale images

Hi there,

looks like mencoder does not work correctly with grayscale images using a
command like this:

mencoder \*.jpg -mf on:fps=25  -o  output.avi  -ovc lavc

Depending on the Input format two differtent things may happen:

* When jpeg is used it produces a segementation fault

* When png is used it produces a somewhat crippled image which has just one
  third of the width it should have. Looks like 3 (RGB) channels are assumed
  here, but just one (grayscale) Channel is available.

mencoder works just fine when the images are converted to colored images.
