[MPlayer-users] DVD plays only with tricks

Hi all,

I am experiencing a strange problem with one DVD under Mplayer:
I have a (non original) copy of Alice in Wonderland, and it plays perfectly 
under Windows, but doesn't want to play under Linux.
Error message out  of MPlayer.-0.90-rc5 is
Playing DVD title 1
Reading disc structure, please wait...
libdvdread: Can't seek to block 256
libdvdread: Can't open file VIDEO_TS.IFO.
Can't open VMG info!

On the other side, mounting the DVD with a 
"mount -t udf /dev/dvd /cdrom" works perfectly, only I can access it only as 
root.

All the other DVDs I own work perfectly, both original and non, and Alice 
works perfectly even under an outdated version of PowerDVD.

Any clue about this?
