Arpi,
I switch to a stock 2.4.19 kernel + XFS 1.2 patch:
Linux zeus 2.4.19-xfs #1 SMP Sat Mar 29 19:40:42 MST 2003 i686 AuthenticAMD
It looks like that did the trick. The QT file now play fine. MPlayer does
crash when I use -vo gl2 but -vo sdl works fine with QT.
I might try to track down which kernel patch that caused this VirtualAlloc()
problem. The interactive performace of the gentoo kernel with the preempt,
low latency, and order one sched is really nice. I also had the gentoo
kernel patched with IPSec but I don't really need that right now.
If I figure anything out, I'll post it to the list.
Thanks for your help.
Cheers,
Tom
