[MPlayer-users] mplayer and alsa(and ac3 avi)

Hi.sry about the last one.
I have Debian 3.0 with my own kernel 2.4.20.
I compiled alsa's recent driver,lib and utils, but when I want to see the drivers mplayer uses I dont get alsa9:

and should the aRTs soundserver be running? When I had Red-Hat I remember(at least I think I do) that ALSA had it's own soundserver, that you could stop or start under Control center...
Basicly I want to play ac3 avi's so my reciver will decode the sound, but only wierd sound comes out(mplayer -ac hwac3 film.avi).
