If the cpu isn't recognized, there only are no optimizations. G3 (750) are
recognized, it shouldn't be much different for a G4.
You can pass --enable-altivec as ./configure's flags though.

AFAIK noone checked nor fixed radeon's vidix driver for endianness issues.
