"rtp://" URLs are a hack; they work only for MPEG Transport Streams sent 
via RTP (e.g., DVB).  Most RTP streams are not of this form.

You probably will want to add LIVE.COM Streaming Media support (see 
<http://www.live.com/mplayer/>), and open a SDP file that describes the 
multicast session (using a "sdp://<file-name>" pseudo-URL).
