[MPlayer-users] Audio sync off in NTSC DVD

Hello all,

	I'm trying to rip an NTSC DVD to DivX5 with libavcodec, and the 
audio sync is slightly off. I'm using mplayer-0.90 compiled on debian 
woody. This is what I'm doing that doesn't work:

mencoder -dvd 1 -alang en -oac mp3lame -ovc lavc -lavcopts 
vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=1600 -lameopts vbr=3:preset=160 -ofps 23.976 -o 
test.avi

I normally do 3pass encoding, but I've been doing 1-pass for debugging 
while I'm trying to figure this out. 3-pass gives the same problem, of 
course.

I have had this problem with several different DVD's, but not all. This 
particular DVD I'm working with at the moment is particularly odd in that 
if I start at Chapter 3 or later, the audio sync is fine. Chapters 1 and 2 
are off by about a quarter second, however.
