This hasn't to be the error. Once MPlayer got all the keys, it saves 
them to disk so it hasn't to get them again.

Well, it's only a rough guess, but some drives are known to behave like 
this as long as no region code is set (even though MPlayer can work 
around a wrongly set region code). Try `cat /proc/scsi/scsi/`. If your 
drive is reported to be a MASHITA or similar, it's very likely you got 
one of these. You can get a tool to set the region code with linux 
here: http://www.ox.compsoc.net/~swhite/DVD/
