[MPlayer-users] Strange behaviour of a file audio only with mplayer

Hi all,

I can't understand the strange behaviour of an avi file with mplayer.

If I play it with any other player, both in linux and win, everything is
fine: at the beginning there is a 10 seconds silence, then the real audio
starts. In the first 10 secs there are some images.

If I play it with mplayer, audio starts at once, so it is 10 seconds in
advance. This implies that all the play is aout of sync. Within a couple
of minutes, it is automatically syncronized.
These are some of the outputs of mplayer in some different instants.

A: 10,2 V: 0,0 A-V: 10,113 ct: 0,004 2/ 2 0% 0% 0,0% 0 0 90%
A: 37,1 V: 30,1 A-V: 7,058 ct: 3,007 722/722 6% 8% 1,1% 18 0 50%
A: 64,3 V: 60,2 A-V: 4,041 ct: 6,023 1445/1445 6% 8% 1,2% 36 0 49%
A: 91,3 V: 90,3 A-V: 1,030 ct: 9,026 2165/2165 7% 8% 1,3% 55 0 49%
A: 120,0 V: 120,0 A-V: -0,001 ct: 10,056 2879/2879 7% 8% 1,3% 74 0 49%

As you can see, within two minutes audio and video are syncronized.
Can anybody explain me wy and how this happens? Why doesn't mplayer
start with 10 secs of silence while the other (xine, ogle, vlc, powerdvd)
do? How does it happen that then it autosyncronize?

I tried many mplayer options (delay, autosync, ecc) and many video and
audio driver, but nothing helped.

I also don't understand why it happens the following: if I start playing
and in the very same moment I skip 10 seconds with the arrow -> (well,
actually, it skips 13 seconds), the mplayer skips 10 secs of video but not
of audio, so it gets in sync. The same happens if I skip more (1 minute,
10 minutes). Why?

Can I fix someway this?

One last thing: in the man/docs I couldn't find how to read the lines I
privided. I can guess about the first 3 fields, but the others?

Thank you

Fabio
