Hi,

I'm trying to get mplayer use my TV-card in order to
watch TV from of my box.

I'm using mplayer 0.92 on a Debian (Woody) machine
with kernel 2.4.18 (self-compiled). The TV adapter in
action is a Hauppauge WinTV Express with a bt878 chip.

Using mplayer on standard MPEG-1 works flawlessly, but
when I try to capture A/V signals all I get is a
complete green screen. This doesn't look like static
of off-frequence channels to me.

I've tried several different mplayer arguments but
couldn't find a working configuration.

Here's how I start mplayer, including the
corresponding output:

------START-----------------------------------

debian:~# mplayer -tv

------END-------------------------------------

(The signals were caused by myself to stop mplayer).

I've successfully tested my TV adapter on XawTV so the
driver is working.
I live in Germany thus using PAL.

I appreciate any proposals.
