[MPlayer-users] How to make (S)VCD with subtitles?

Is there any way of making (S)VCD from DiVX with subtitles? I've got subtitles stored 
in plain text, so what I need to do is to somehow render this text over movie, dump it 
somewhere, and that compress it to mpg, using menc2vcd script?

Is -vo mpeg* suitable for this? will it dump just raw video stream, or with text overlay 
as well? 

Or maybe a simpler method?
